Qallak Terms of Use | Qallak ቃላክ

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating a Qallak account, accessing our web application, or using our mobile services, you enter into a legally binding contract with Qallak (ቃላክ). If you do not agree to these terms, you must not register an account or access the application.

We may modify these terms from time to time. We will notify you of major updates via in-app notifications or registered email. Continued use of the platform after updates are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

2. Eligibility & Account Integrity

To register an account or use Qallak services, you represent and warrant that:

You are at least 18 years of age. Qallak is strictly an adult community.
You have never been convicted of a felony or crimes involving harassment, violence, or sexual misconduct.
You have not been previously suspended or removed from Qallak for safety violations.
You will only maintain one single, authentic account at any given time. Operating secondary throwaway accounts or using automated bots/emulators is strictly forbidden.

3. Code of Conduct, Intent Boundaries & Prohibited Uses

Qallak is built for authentic, respectful communication. You agree to adhere strictly to the Qallak Community Guidelines and agree that you will NOT:

Upload photos or media containing nudity, pornography, sexually suggestive poses, weapons, graphic violence, or any photos containing minors/children under 18 years of age.
Harass, stalk, abuse, intimidate, or demean any other user, or utter hate speech against any ethnicity, religion, regional origin, or gender.
Disregard another member's declared relationship intent by directing unsolicited romantic or sexual advances toward platonic or networking accounts.
Attempt to bypass intent boundary quarantines or switch relationship intent classes in violation of the mandatory 7-day cooldown.
Switch your intent from Platonic to Romantic without satisfying the mandatory requirement of at least two clear, authentic face photos of yourself, or submit placeholder memes/objects.
Solicit money, loans, investment schemes, or mobile airtime (Ethio Telecom cards / Telebirr / CBE transfers).
Record, screenshot, or rebroadcast private Buna table audio or 1-on-1 conversations to external third-party platforms.
Use fake photos, celebrity imagery, or spoofed face verification selfies to misrepresent your identity.
Put personal contact information, phone numbers, Telegram handles, or external social links in public bios.

4. Purchases, Subscriptions & Consumables (Chapa ETB)

Qallak offers membership tiers (Free, Light, Gold, Premium) and à la carte consumable packages (Profile Rewinds, Super-Likes, Visibility Boosts).

Active Chat Slot Quotas

To prevent superficial match hoarding and foster focused, meaningful conversations, Qallak enforces concurrent active chat slot limits based on your tier. Opening new conversations when your limit is reached requires closing or archiving inactive conversations.

Currency & Billing

All in-app purchases and subscription fees in Ethiopia are denominated in Ethiopian Birr (ETB) and processed securely through Chapa Financial Technologies. Qallak does not store raw credit card or bank credentials.

Consumables & Expiration

Visibility Boosts stack additively in duration when multiple boosts are activated. Unused consumables remain associated with your account. All digital purchases, coins, subscription periods, and activated consumables are non-refundable once delivered or consumed, except as required by applicable consumer protection laws.

Rewards Economy

Points accrued through the Invite & Earn program or chat mini-games carry no cash equivalent and cannot be redeemed for fiat currency. Qallak reserves the right to cancel points balances obtained through fraudulent self-referrals or emulator farming.

5. Enforcement, Account Suspension & Appeals

Qallak enforces conduct standards through a transparent 5-Rung Disciplinary Ladder:

Graduated Ladder: Progresses from Formal Warnings (Rung 1) to 24-Hour Read-Only mode (Rung 2), 7-Day Suspension (Rung 3), 30-Day Suspension (Rung 4), and Permanent Account Termination (Rung 5). Strikes naturally decay and expire after 180 days of clean conduct.
Immediate Zero-Tolerance Termination: Critical violations (underage registration, child exploitation, credible violence threats, impersonation fraud, and financial extortion) trigger an immediate permanent account ban and retention of identifiers in bannedIdentities to prevent re-registration.
Right to Appeal: Disciplined users may appeal via the in-app Appeal Screen. Appeals containing insults, profanity, or threats toward moderation staff will be immediately denied and result in permanent ban escalation.

6. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

You are solely responsible for your interactions with other members, both online and offline. Qallak does not conduct criminal background checks. You agree to exercise common sense and follow safety precautions when conversing or meeting members in person.

Qallak provides the platform on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of uninterrupted service. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Qallak shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, punitive, or consequential damages resulting from your use of the platform.

7. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
